Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs ground chuck
- One Cup onion, chopped
- One whole garlic bulb, peeled and chopped
- Two 15 oz cans tomato sauce
- Two 15 oz cans whole tomatoes, broken up
- 2 to 3 tablespoons chili powder
- One teaspoon black pepper
- Quarter teaspoon cayenne
- One tablespoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
- Quarter teaspoon garlic powder
- Quarter teaspoon Italian seasoning
- One to two tablespoon sugar
- Half teaspoon salt
- One teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Bay leaves
- 5 to 10 hot pepper rings (Vlasic suggested)
- Optional: red kidney beans
- Optional: (for thinning): tomato juice
Directions
- Brown the ground Chuck with the chopped onion and garlic
- Add tomato sauce and broken up whole tomatoes; Bring to a simmer
- While simmering, Add all remaining spices and seasonings. Adjust amounts to taste. Add kidney beans if desired
- Simmer for four hours, thinning with tomato juice if necessary
Note: This is a very Hot Chili
Serve with: Shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onion, and oyster crackers
